We cherish our couples and thrive in conducting outdoor couple sessions. As I always say, with the right planning, there’s nothing more delightful than a couple photoshoot.

The first step is selecting the perfect venue. Opt for a stunning and picturesque location for the shoot, and choose the ideal time of year; something neither too hot nor too wet. This factor is crucial.

You definitely want to avoid sweating profusely during your photoshoot, right? Likewise, bad weather could throw a wrench in your plans—something we definitely want to avoid!

It’s best to schedule your session for either early morning or late afternoon. Depending on your local climate, select the time wisely. If the sun is not overly intense where you are, then any time could work.

In tropical regions like Chennai, it’s best to take a break around 9 or 10 a.m. because the sun can become very harsh, washing out your photos.

If it’s a full-day event, we generally resume around 4 p.m. and shoot until approximately 7 or 8 p.m., assuming we have additional lighting.

**PREPARATION FOR OUTDOOR COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT**

As with any significant endeavor, your outdoor photoshoot requires thorough preparation.

Since this is an outdoor setting, makeup may need frequent touch-ups. Be sure to bring your MUA along and ensure she stays with you until the session wraps up.

**GET SUFFICIENT REST**

To ensure a successful outdoor photoshoot, both of you should get plenty of rest the night before. Eat dinner early and hit that pillow as soon as you can.

If it’s an early morning shoot, coordinate with your makeup artist the night before and make sure she begins and finishes the makeup on schedule.

Our aim is to capture stunning images during the golden hour—just before and after sunrise.

Ideally, you might want to book a resort for the night; wake up early, start your makeup, wear your first outfit, and be prepared by the time the crew arrives for the shoot.

For a beach session, smart-casual attire works well; however, avoid collarless t-shirts.

Aim to look elegant and unique; that’s the goal. Your outfits play a crucial role in the quality of your photographs.

Not only is the style of dress important, but color choices also matter. Seek our advice, and we’ll be glad to assist you in selecting the right costumes.

Keep in mind that wearing a saree might not be ideal for a beach shoot, as it can be a bit cumbersome—especially if it’s not something you wear regularly.

Many couples have a strong preference for beach outdoor pre-wedding photoshoots. One of the highlights is splashing around in the waves, which is thrilling! However, it’s best to save the water fun for the end of your session.

From what we’ve seen, a well-planned outdoor creative pre-wedding photoshoot can yield many memorable moments.

**THE POSES**

You may have seen countless couple photoshoot pose inspirations on Instagram and want to replicate a few for your session. The best approach is to share these ideas in advance with your photographer. They will determine which shots will work well based on the venue, time of day, and your personalities as a couple.

**PRACTICE YOUR POSES**

Next, rehearse your poses—solo or together. This is essential. Without rehearsal, any pose can come off as forced and unnatural.

We must remember that we aren’t professional actors. Even they practice beforehand.

So, rehearse each pose as many times as you need to feel comfortable and natural.
