**Couple Photoshoot**
Who doesn’t love a stunning photo of themselves, especially as a couple? We’re here to discuss the magic of couple photoshoots.
Each couple photographed is unique, reflecting their story through the choice of venue, time of day, season, and their individual personalities. The couple’s vibe towards the photographer and the session itself adds another layer to the experience.
**PREPARING FOR THE COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT**
A crucial part of a successful couple shoot stems from our initial conversation with the couple. We typically recommend a single session focusing solely on photography, allowing for up to two outfit changes.
Our first step is selecting a venue for the shoot. As showcased in our portfolio, we’ve captured couples at various locations—beaches, homes, coffee shops, in the woods, at resorts, during festive moments, and wherever the opportunities arise.
**THE COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT PRIOR TO AN EVENT**
This is a standard session scheduled before significant events like receptions, weddings, or engagements. Again, the choice of location and timing influences both the duration of the shoot and the number of photos taken.
Couple portraits can be captured early in the morning by the beach, as the sunrise casts a beautiful hue across the sky. Alternatively, a romantic evening shoot, with lengthening shadows, can create an enchanting atmosphere around the couple.
In traditional Tamil weddings, which typically occur early, we often conduct morning shoots. Just before the ceremony, the stunning bride in her gorgeous saree and the groom in traditional attire can be captured, posing in gardens or on the beach with gentle waves nearby.
Our aim is to capture a variety of angles, including close-ups, mid-range shots, and wide perspectives.
Costumes play a significant role in achieving a visually stunning photoshoot.
For traditional sessions, the bride is typically seen in her culturally rich attire, whether Bengali, Malayali, Telugu, or Marathi. Indian costumes are incredibly vibrant and serve as fantastic props for couple photographs.
As mentioned earlier, it’s always easier and more effective to conduct the couple photoshoot before the main event—be it an engagement, reception, or wedding. This timing ensures the couple looks fresh from their makeup and radiate plenty of energy. As the day progresses, fatigue can set in, and by the end, the couple might not be in the best mood for photos. Physical weariness can clash with the desire to shoot, despite the mind’s enthusiasm.
Moreover, makeup might fade, and hair can lose its styling, making close-up shots less ideal.
An exception, however, occurs when weddings take place in the morning. If the ceremony concludes by noon, it allows photographers to capture the newlyweds in their wedding attire. We always advise keeping the makeup artist available until the end, to touch up as required before every shoot.
If possible, retain your makeup artist throughout the entire shoot. This is particularly essential for pre-wedding or post-wedding photography sessions.
**PRE-WEDDING COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT**
For pre-wedding or post-wedding shoots, determining a budget is crucial. Expect the photographer’s fees to start from around Rs.25K, while venue rentals at five-star resorts can also begin around Rs.25K for a four-hour session. Don’t forget to factor in transportation for the crew, along with food and drinks.
Plan your venue booking well ahead of time to ensure you don’t face last-minute challenges, based on your available budget and timeline.
Assuming it’s a local shoot at a nearby beach resort, consider securing a makeup artist who can stay with you throughout the shoot, ensuring you remain camera-ready at all times.
**PHOTOSHOOT TIMING: EARLY MORNING OR LATE AFTERNOON?**
This choice is ultimately yours. We suggest an early morning shoot, where you can wait for the golden hour to capture stunning images.
If rising early isn’t appealing, a late afternoon shoot leading into sunset works well, too.
Regardless, ensure your makeup is completed promptly, and arrive on time. As you might know, lighting is crucial for beautiful photography, and there’s no light better than natural sunlight.
For nighttime captures, consider reserving a studio in advance and setting an appointment that suits both you and the photographer.
When securing a resort or studio, you may have access to a changing area for outfit adjustments.
Lastly, weekends tend to be less ideal for resort shoots due to higher guest traffic. Some resorts might not permit couple photoshoots on weekends.
So there you have it! We hope you’re now excited about your upcoming couple photoshoot. Enjoy browsing through our images.
